TRUSTED TRAVELER PROGRAM
To qualify for one of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Programs, all applicants must voluntarily undergo a thorough background check against criminal, law enforcement, customs, immigration, agriculture, and terrorist indices to include biometric fingerprint checks, and a personal interview with a CBP Officer.
TSA Pre✓™ - is a pre-screening initiative that makes risk assessments on passengers who voluntarily participate prior to their arrival at the airport checkpoint. TSA Pre✓™ includes U.S. citizens who are select frequent travelers of participating airlines or members of existing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs including Global Entry, NEXUS, and SENTRI programs.
GLOBAL ENTRY – Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Global Entry operates at 31 U.S. airports and 10 preclearance locations that collectively serve 97 percent of international travelers arriving to the United States. Applicants must possess a machine-readable U.S. passport or permanent resident card, pay a non-refundable $100 application fee which is good for a five year period, pass a law enforcement check, and complete an interview at a CBP enrollment center. Members are eligible to participate in other CBP trusted traveler programs, as well as the Transportation Security Administration’s Pre-Check passenger expedited screening program.
NEXUS PROGRAM – Travel between the U.S. and Canada, NEXUS cards are WHTI-compliant documents for land and sea travel, as well as air travel when traveling to and from airports using the NEXUS program, and provide expedited travel via land, air or sea to approved members between the U.S. and Canada border.
SENTRI – Travel between the U.S. and Mexico, SENTRI cards are WHTI-compliant documents for entry into the United States by land or sea, and also provide expedited travel to approved members between the U.S. and Mexico border.
To become a member of the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection, applicants voluntarily undergo a background check, in-person interview & fingerprinting and pay a $129 fee to cover administrative expenses.
FAST – This program allows U.S./Canada and U.S./Mexico partnering importers expedited release for qualifying commercial shipments through CBP processing.
